DB LATERAL RAISE & HOLD - The 3rd Exercise Test shall be completed with BARE HANDS.
ABSOLUTELY NO baggy clothes covering the arms, gloves, elbow supports, pads, foam, cloths, bands, wrist straps, hooks, grips, wedges under the heels, 'tacky' or any other means of grip or arm and shoulder assistance shall be permitted whatsoever.
LADIES DB WEIGHT: 5kg Dumbbell in each hand
MENS DB WEIGHT: 10kg Dumbbell in each hand
Upon Instruction from the judge, competitors will adopt the 'START POSITION'.
START POSITION:
Pick up the dumbbells (1 in each hand) and position with arms by your side (elbows soft).
(SEATED EVENTS) The Torso should be in contact with the back support and not leaning back by more than 20CM maximum.
Underhand Grips as used with 'Curl Movements' shall not be permitted.
FINISH POSITION:
Your WHOLE ARMS raised out to the sides of your body until parallel with the Floor.
Your arms shall be straight but not locked (elbows soft).
The Torso should be upright and not leaning back by more than 20CM maximum.
Once in the FINISH POSITION the judge will give you the command to 'Hold' and will start the timer.
The judge will count out your time in 5 / 10 second milestone markers.
The judge will shout out 'STOP' when the arms fail to remain parallel with the floor and the time noted.
The judges decision is final.
Once begun, competitors are allowed 1 attempt only, which must be completed within 3 minutes of starting.
Each completed second of time scores 1 Point.
